Be the Change

In an effort to get back into blogging, I recently stumbled upon The Daily Post, and their daily inspiration ideas.  Today’s caught my eye –

What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?

I love the title – “Be the Change”, as a great and famous Ghandi quote – be the change you want to see in the world.  And it’s go me thinking.  Why do I blog?  What do i want my blog to do or achieve?

Originally I started blogging as an outlet for frustration and misery – I was in an awful job and I needed something to channel my  moods away from the stress and depression.  Now I have a job I love (perhaps why my blogging has fallen away recently).

So why do I blog?  What do I want my blog to achieve?

I think I’d like to think that somewhere, someone is perhaps in the same situation I was, before I started travelling.  Wanting to travel, but not feeling I had the option to.

Making the break out of an unhappy relationship and stepping out by myself, living by myself, and learning to travel alone was absolutely the best thing I’ve done.  It allowed me to find out what I enjoyed, go places I’d dreamed of going, met some fantastic people, and above all experienced some life affirming moments.

I’d love my blog to be the change that gives someone else the strength to do what I did and go for it.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Be the Change.”

  1. Nice post! At the moment my blog is a way of keeping memories – but one day I would love to be able to say that I helped someone! Be sure to check out my blog if you get the chance! Thanks – Beth!
